Quilt Camp

This past weekend I was able to take a Friday off work and head up north with a group of quilting friends to our "Funny Bunny" quilt camp. Our camp is located in Christopher Creek nestled in the pines. It was wonderful... we had rain every day, cool weather, great food, plenty of sewing time and just alot of fun and laughs. We even took a break from our sewing one evening to take a ride up on the rim to look for elk and yes we spotted about a dozen.

Crystal brought us all the supplies to make this darling pumpkin . She even had all the little squares cut for us. It was kind of like putting a puzzle together and once we got started we were all hooked. This is mine, it isn't quite finished yet but almost, just a few buttons and teeth that say "Happy Fall Y'all. Thanks Crystal!
This is a baby quilt that I also worked on. The top is all finished, now for the quilting and binding and off to baby. I also worked on some cute little Christmas table mats that Bunny brought for all of us. I am not quite finished, I need to sew the binding down, I will get a picture when I do.

This is Bunny with half of her pumpkin. She is our leader...or the person that got us all together in the beginning to quilt as a group and it is her cabin that we all go to. Thanks for sharing with us.

This is Debbiesue, our master embroidery person. She made some beautiful embroidered flower blocks this weekend for a quilt she is working on. I should have taken a picture of those but looks like I caught her working on her pumpkin too.

And last this is Crystal. She finished a king size cabin quilt top for her bed at camp. We are all going to make one for our beds up there but Crystal is the one on the ball and has hers done first.

Camp is always so much fun, I can't wait to go again.

Finished Projects

I thought I would show you a few of my recent finished projects. This apron I made for my sister for her birthday. Here she is modeling it. The apron is completely reversible. My sister loves to cook (and we love her cooking) and she always wears an apron when she does so this is a perfect gift for her.
Another project I have been working on are these pillows for Carrie's new apartment. She picked the fabrics out on a recent trip we made through Payson. She actually wanted to stop at the quilt store. I don't get many of my family that want to do that with me. I love the colors she picked.
This quilts is Carrie's graduation quilt (that's her peaking her head out of the top). She graduated from A.S.U. in Dec. 2009. I am so proud of her accomplishments. Now I know the quilt is a little late but better late than never. I'm not sure what happened to the bottom of this picture but I promise the quilt is complete.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We are celebrating another birthday this week. Today is my daughter Carrie's 24th birthday. Carrie is a person with many names. When she was born she was so cute and had dark hair and chubby cheeks and her dad started calling her "Wanda Sue". Her nieces and nephews call her "Aunt WeeWee". Reagen is the one that came up with that name when she was a little but I am not sure where she got it from. Me...I call her "Carrie Lissa Lubella Druzella Mubella"......"Lucy" for short. Funny how these names get started and then stick. Happy Birthday Carrie, I hope you have a great day.

Congratulations!

Congratulations Katie and Mark. My niece and her husband just announced that they are going to be new parents. Here they are holding Hunter, my grandson, right after he was born, 4 years ago. They had a fun way to announce their wonderful news. I was having dinner with her mom and her brother, Tate and she came in bring us each a sugar cookie in the shape of a baby bottle. She made us close our eyes before she put them in front of us and had us open all at the same time. Of course when we opened our eyes we all screamed. Katie had made the cookies so cute. Great job Katie, you two are going to be great parent. I am so happy for you.

Happy Birthday Sister!

Today is a very special persons birthday, my sister's. She is the best sister a person could ask for. I don't know what I would do without her. Best of all is the special birthday present she got ...she found out that she is going to be a Grandma for the first time. Congratulations Sister and Happy Birthday, you deserve the best.
