If you remember last summer I got to go to Alaska and stay at their fishing lodge...one of my favorite things ever. This year I asked if I could have a couple of garden boxes made and here is one of them. I just love the way it looks. My other box is smaller and I don't have it planted yet. I will post a picture when I do. <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1bKb8TFsRcNKIA_5qaGFpMDtV9NAV4x4OmBN01u6_i3-s7e0nLl_SJ4EyEEPU1TdbTCdhfUvirCi7dhi3b9TFWmZh3vn4Pydu7bHFHafghnhuCJUu5odp1FLc-619duy6r7T0Navir5X/s1600/Easter+013.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5729610850357127138" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1bKb8TFsRcNKIA_5qaGFpMDtV9NAV4x4OmBN01u6_i3-s7e0nLl_SJ4EyEEPU1TdbTCdhfUvirCi7dhi3b9TFWmZh3vn4Pydu7bHFHafghnhuCJUu5odp1FLc-619duy6r7T0Navir5X/s400/Easter+013.JPG" /></a>I actually work the division of the company that does all out of state sales and military bases. When I asked for a garden box the brother that owns the Arizona portion of the business offered to make my boxes. I am blessed to work for such a great family. In this box I have tomatoes, several varieties and some squash. My dad told me that I need to thin out the squash that I planted with seeds but I just can't make myself pull any out yet but it all is growing so fast I will have to soon. The strawberries you see there in front and a couple of smaller plants sitting inside the planter are actually going to go into the smaller box...next weekends job. Thanks Lindblom family...I love my job!Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-69185851110204708142012-04-09T19:48:00.004-07:002012-04-09T20:33:24.459-07:00Easter<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb1w3r2cCReQ3VMpZAqJHO96jYjnzGjY2qrt2C0en1zQvPKanh5TyFf1hrJTJJ87m1WVzUrOBtkEIUSBdGiimtp7Bhb7SpGnjAsQtoB1lrcQ5XlBt5HnMfdiks0lbTH04EARkSWpnxOyb_/s1600/Easter+goodies+003.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5729603375132436674" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb1w3r2cCReQ3VMpZAqJHO96jYjnzGjY2qrt2C0en1zQvPKanh5TyFf1hrJTJJ87m1WVzUrOBtkEIUSBdGiimtp7Bhb7SpGnjAsQtoB1lrcQ5XlBt5HnMfdiks0lbTH04EARkSWpnxOyb_/s400/Easter+goodies+003.JPG" /></a>What fun Easter celebration we had with all the kids. We decided to do it on Sat. night...I really wanted to do it at night so we could have a glow in the dark easter egg hunt. More on that later. Anyway we started out grilling hamburgers. I know that doesn't sound to much like Easter but it sounded good so we went for it and Brett did a great job of the grilling...they were great. Above are the goodie bags they all went home with along with the little bunnies each got at their place setting. I tried to put these at the end but for some reason they just won't move so here they are. The girls really loved the bunnies but the boys could just see the sucker they are made with. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjstbaYwsOnE88QdwgRsRw0B7Wtd56C26dxa1ijalqRP5acBb-1LkzT4YDEOHatKkDEq1L28X7ybaDstvLsc3OYzzYCQLNTAg47QwOOmE52hA4gBMznz8_VHWA-ynyOpK1wDsl7dhudbAsH/s1600/Easter+001.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5729600370262424034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjstbaYwsOnE88QdwgRsRw0B7Wtd56C26dxa1ijalqRP5acBb-1LkzT4YDEOHatKkDEq1L28X7ybaDstvLsc3OYzzYCQLNTAg47QwOOmE52hA4gBMznz8_VHWA-ynyOpK1wDsl7dhudbAsH/s400/Easter+001.JPG" /></a>After everyone had eaten all the little ones were ready for egg coloring. If you notice most have their shirts off...no that was not a requirement but they all had new shirts so their parents didn't want egg dye on them so they all took them off. So I guess we had shirtless egg dying.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOEpxAGYeMNKjTqBYwnzjv9XKHTxEF3dGkLvm2MpXsUzckYc6PMvwav0cY5jzGOpoGxyZqCMx-e2iDbRM92XLyOvuPcivHBL7YBi2k7D6vs6139dabijEEYWGyADTsntBuhhIr_nHUaSbu/s1600/Easter+006.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5729600363763152754" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOEpxAGYeMNKjTqBYwnzjv9XKHTxEF3dGkLvm2MpXsUzckYc6PMvwav0cY5jzGOpoGxyZqCMx-e2iDbRM92XLyOvuPcivHBL7YBi2k7D6vs6139dabijEEYWGyADTsntBuhhIr_nHUaSbu/s400/Easter+006.JPG" /></a>Shirts or no shirts they all had fun and came out with some really pretty eggs. We had 5 kiddies and 5 colors of egg dye so everyone got to do one egg and then passed their color of dye to the next person. This worked great for a while and then everyone started to grab to get their favorite colors until the eggs were all colored.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-_O-MguSKylxWGy52ZCswPuOliK3HrYT2olOrkLitFWLwyZfbNZuDEQ2Hlc3B7b4R_M-MvEJg7OhriooLtTHwxp0H5rGtlbhjQEgxUXnJ3XNILgAo-Knk85gDBWfDHZYc0cXmNs7P9zex/s1600/Easter+003.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5729600356421761170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-_O-MguSKylxWGy52ZCswPuOliK3HrYT2olOrkLitFWLwyZfbNZuDEQ2Hlc3B7b4R_M-MvEJg7OhriooLtTHwxp0H5rGtlbhjQEgxUXnJ3XNILgAo-Knk85gDBWfDHZYc0cXmNs7P9zex/s400/Easter+003.JPG" /></a>As you can see Hunter was really concentrating to get just the right shade of blue. Funny how some were patient enough to get bright colors and some were more impatient, they ended up with the pastel colors. Either way they were pretty.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8dWbEPp9Bk3jFfQLU1NAKBUlIRqi0pQQREy4gu_8gl-CfQvjc6xI08T0P-ozA9vl6JLvGfygu6PlOEe9H0fhAiuQHVDKQ_e-jng6qtNqmwKjeEWy-8e3vlKIfpt_Hq5oacDEAwt7Ges_y/s1600/Easter+008.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5729600351824020562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8dWbEPp9Bk3jFfQLU1NAKBUlIRqi0pQQREy4gu_8gl-CfQvjc6xI08T0P-ozA9vl6JLvGfygu6PlOEe9H0fhAiuQHVDKQ_e-jng6qtNqmwKjeEWy-8e3vlKIfpt_Hq5oacDEAwt7Ges_y/s400/Easter+008.JPG" /></a>Now onto the "glow in the dark" egg hunt. I had seen the idea on Pinterest and really wanted to try it. So I found some glow in the dark bracelets and talked Julie and Carrie into stuffing them into the eggs. They really had to shove them in to get the eggs to shut. While the kids were busy coloring eggs they went out and hid the glow in the dark eggs. I tried to take a picture but since it was dark the flash went off and you couldn't see the eggs. Take my word for it tho, it looked really cool. The kids loved it. Down side to it all tho, we noticed some of the liquid in the glow in the dark bracelets started to leak since they were stuffed so tightly into the eggs. We decided to be on the safe side we needed throw them all away. The kiddies were pretty disappointed but better safe than sorry. Of course later on we found the dog eating some of them and it didn't bother her. </div><div> </div><div>I had another game to play after the egg hunt but unfortunately it was getting late and the parents were ready to get the kids home so that they could get to bed for the Easter Bunny to visit them. Maybe next year. Fun was had by all tho. I think the glow in the dark egg hunt needs to become a tradition at Grandma's house. Oh by the way...I hear I could have bought glow in the dark eggs at Walmart. That probably would have been much easier. Next Year.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb1w3r2cCReQ3VMpZAqJHO96jYjnzGjY2qrt2C0en1zQvPKanh5TyFf1hrJTJJ87m1WVzUrOBtkEIUSBdGiimtp7Bhb7SpGnjAsQtoB1lrcQ5XlBt5HnMfdiks0lbTH04EARkSWpnxOyb_/s1600/Easter+goodies+003.JPG"></a></div><div> </div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-14978617617219631132012-03-11T14:04:00.003-07:002012-03-11T14:39:25.239-07:00Birthday Quiet BookThis weekend this cute little girl turned a year old. She is Avery my "great" niece and is one of the happiest babies that I have ever been around and just soooo cute. I wanted to come up with something special for her birthday and of course like I always do I started trying to think of something that I could make her. <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijgsqkXaVs8oepT61R8ZLsGbzg-2AQcbK35HMRKZwQO5h8js0b21He6iRvWsp3GLQm-FOJ9QN5B1oJ2KJ6GD8M6g0TaeJnOQRzNKT8XaXAmhyZ3gk-TS33X6YMIY9lU8qnCuEcIylieZix/s1600/March+1+018.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718750711096871586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijgsqkXaVs8oepT61R8ZLsGbzg-2AQcbK35HMRKZwQO5h8js0b21He6iRvWsp3GLQm-FOJ9QN5B1oJ2KJ6GD8M6g0TaeJnOQRzNKT8XaXAmhyZ3gk-TS33X6YMIY9lU8qnCuEcIylieZix/s400/March+1+018.JPG" /></a> I have always wanted to make thoses cute little quiet books but felt like maybe Avery wasn't quite old enough for the one with all the different activities in them. So I went to Etsy.com and typed in quiet book patterns and came up with this pattern by SW Designs. It happened to be Feb. 29th...Leap day and they were having a sale. I love sales so I ordered this cute toddler quiet book called "On The Farm". Best yet it was sent digitally to my email so I didn't have to wait for it. This picture was the book after it was all put together.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizdQPRlwXvJ2mWpZMHSMxQDVGGXiobf7h3tYQOzrPowOP2djNPprWTdZFuZHbXPsMdsv_BYMaAoVHzVQAQ0IW_avZ7PpOKTtZUnQhkg7T2YDmRRFvuvIBbFfTVxBrTLZBnjlK1TBQTvuGu/s1600/March+1+006.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718750698792910002" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizdQPRlwXvJ2mWpZMHSMxQDVGGXiobf7h3tYQOzrPowOP2djNPprWTdZFuZHbXPsMdsv_BYMaAoVHzVQAQ0IW_avZ7PpOKTtZUnQhkg7T2YDmRRFvuvIBbFfTVxBrTLZBnjlK1TBQTvuGu/s400/March+1+006.JPG" /></a> I sat down one day when I really should have been doing several other things to look at it and start organizing fabrics etc. and found it rather addicting and was finished with the whole book in no time at all. It was so easy. Here is a set of the first pages.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPnOH1lqNoTVQU0qYiK2yUsos2hVnepgJFk3R4pz_jeaZV0OCamJcN3MIt73sh5VdIfD0qEQJx0y_fXNGmsoVYcSHKNNqF61Gs58I8fpApCn_vwpz60Z7h6XQIdAOBsf2sa7iATqQqzmzf/s1600/March+1+004.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718750689798603170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPnOH1lqNoTVQU0qYiK2yUsos2hVnepgJFk3R4pz_jeaZV0OCamJcN3MIt73sh5VdIfD0qEQJx0y_fXNGmsoVYcSHKNNqF61Gs58I8fpApCn_vwpz60Z7h6XQIdAOBsf2sa7iATqQqzmzf/s400/March+1+004.JPG" /></a> And here is the set of the last four pages. The chicken and the cow were my favorite and after this picture was taken I added a bow onto the cows bell.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNQ3PWfoGUl0PR6zAnIgq-WvDVDdhqobFZs3ZB10UhZsqhDLalSm_KlaaewT8Ly6Dp6Y3iEOw9i7KkfLLArJTNa0PYhe3bT_KP-zEqWgUdFhaEeYCeBo7MbO1f6Fgkd3lfr2N6Kc-8acmK/s1600/March+1+005.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718750686799060962" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNQ3PWfoGUl0PR6zAnIgq-WvDVDdhqobFZs3ZB10UhZsqhDLalSm_KlaaewT8Ly6Dp6Y3iEOw9i7KkfLLArJTNa0PYhe3bT_KP-zEqWgUdFhaEeYCeBo7MbO1f6Fgkd3lfr2N6Kc-8acmK/s400/March+1+005.JPG" /></a> After getting it all put together I decided it needed 1 more page...a back cover I guess. So early the same morning I was to pass it onto Avery I put together this flower page. You can't see it but around the flower I wrote...Made for Avery with love by Aunt Mindy...Happy Birthday and then the date. Avery loves books so I hope she enjoys this one too as much as I enjoyed making it for her<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdKGdpE0b-6PwN74LAZ88Y8qzScxzSj0WbGD03-CaN9IJ9k7PvUIvG-bF-V8PY8slUaxkbfiNZi_SAPmlBw3xZ7rdTmZJDq_YN39pQw65M4IdNmZIXp39SgNIHeWceM9bIgvhT6w9llJJM/s1600/March+1+009.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718750680544323698" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdKGdpE0b-6PwN74LAZ88Y8qzScxzSj0WbGD03-CaN9IJ9k7PvUIvG-bF-V8PY8slUaxkbfiNZi_SAPmlBw3xZ7rdTmZJDq_YN39pQw65M4IdNmZIXp39SgNIHeWceM9bIgvhT6w9llJJM/s400/March+1+009.JPG" /></a><br />My story should end here but much to my surprise when I received the email copy of this pattern Shelly Wallace, the author, said that if I post this onto my blog I will get another one of her quiet book patterns for free. You can't ask for anything better than that for a good deal. Thanks Shelly...now the hard part...which one? If any others of you out there are interested you can find all Shellys cute quiet book patterns in her etsy shop at <a href="http://www.shelleywallace.etsy.com/">www.shelleywallace.etsy.com</a>.<br />Happy 1st Birthday Avery!<br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-83849872074413432032012-03-01T06:00:00.000-08:002012-03-01T06:00:15.335-08:00Season EndHunter and Connor finished a successful baseball season this past weekend. They both were really fun to watch. You could see alot of improvement in Hunters team by the end of the season. His games were fun to watch and starting to look like real baseball. The boys learned so much.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXi025N-FJ3HIAZsRugVsU3SlqfAmkwhOPgGUsiQjh432tr1LiRpkD5mFuDXXAVfeiHWeyhz2QqxYxm5R-aDxzGTI9fKdGWFTVsyjG3bwbyZdmWo3BBSPPBYRTEuYYIy8Us6DxpMhiQ2Sy/s1600/Prac._1-17-12_Wildcates_003.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 380px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713821408980404034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXi025N-FJ3HIAZsRugVsU3SlqfAmkwhOPgGUsiQjh432tr1LiRpkD5mFuDXXAVfeiHWeyhz2QqxYxm5R-aDxzGTI9fKdGWFTVsyjG3bwbyZdmWo3BBSPPBYRTEuYYIy8Us6DxpMhiQ2Sy/s400/Prac._1-17-12_Wildcates_003.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div>I love this picture of him watching the ball. He always had a smile on his face when he played. He had a little different strategy as he ran from one base to the next...he usually did a loop or two into the outfield between bases. Didn't really matter because the little guys on the opposing team usually were still struggling to get the ball and figure out where it goes next by the time he would reach the base. Last weekend I got to spend it with this crafty little girl, Reagen. She came to spend the night on Friday and stayed until Sunday evening. We had a great time together...watched a few movies, went to her cousins t-ball games, did a little grocery shopping and alot of crafting.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiIJTlk-tRUmgkGlZfZV72L7hYsFzh3ilU6wljKi110aOwCAckuVrvZvUDI3Jf0-6UCRoYoZuS0h6hJrzKKoKLuVu1hocGysCQZMoX8kG5h_YM5SLC8mLYM2LrPhFybOKczRjtC7sMgC57/s1600/Feb.+2012+016.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5708820634187611698" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiIJTlk-tRUmgkGlZfZV72L7hYsFzh3ilU6wljKi110aOwCAckuVrvZvUDI3Jf0-6UCRoYoZuS0h6hJrzKKoKLuVu1hocGysCQZMoX8kG5h_YM5SLC8mLYM2LrPhFybOKczRjtC7sMgC57/s400/Feb.+2012+016.JPG" border="0" /></a>Reagen pulled out her sewing machine and worked for a bit on a quilt that she has been working on for some time. She pulled out a box of her scrapbooking stuff...didn't really make anything with it but reorganized it all. She also wanted to go to the fabric store. I wasn't sure just what for but you know I am always game for any store that carries fabric so off to Hobby Lobby we went.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghaH3mko0ZnXsEF_nlcaDYJa_XQybqrEmt2D3PFuRdm4rR9Coh8OU3e8Ay6E0eDApLPTirZlu-so7I8PBBAMR73tl3IXMkwjxuNEQXFJEmWGLebwpFDFh0zPlMo7eTj53T0BDk_ZmS3B2H/s1600/Feb.+2012+017.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5708820630250148610" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghaH3mko0ZnXsEF_nlcaDYJa_XQybqrEmt2D3PFuRdm4rR9Coh8OU3e8Ay6E0eDApLPTirZlu-so7I8PBBAMR73tl3IXMkwjxuNEQXFJEmWGLebwpFDFh0zPlMo7eTj53T0BDk_ZmS3B2H/s400/Feb.+2012+017.JPG" border="0" /></a>She picked out this fleece and came home and tied this little blanket for herself. She did it all on her own...measured, cut and tied. While Reagen worked on her projects I worked on a few of my own. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh89Cc3EeY4VDDdkYG4ODSNlF4OUD6F3lH5xMoh3XghUU3vA6Eefdygj4zHrCL-LMUs99Qm3GBt_IqGR_Kospx8kwhlXEljyyIi66GqE0mXdhspMcHZBe4AqaJowjW-bcxR7gI5khfUfED8/s1600/Feb.+2012+002.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5708820621226582802" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh89Cc3EeY4VDDdkYG4ODSNlF4OUD6F3lH5xMoh3XghUU3vA6Eefdygj4zHrCL-LMUs99Qm3GBt_IqGR_Kospx8kwhlXEljyyIi66GqE0mXdhspMcHZBe4AqaJowjW-bcxR7gI5khfUfED8/s400/Feb.+2012+002.JPG" border="0" /></a>I had seen one of these banners on Pinerest made with old book pages. I picked me up an old book at Goodwill's half price sale the week before so I decided to give it a try. The one I had seen had buttons on it so I decided to go through a jar of old antique buttons that I had and found some real interesting things in there besides buttons. I know its hard to see but there is an old zipper pull (it's the aqua color on the middle one), an old snap, some sort of hook thing, an old safety pin with thread wrapped around it and several other things that looked neat but I don't really know what they are. Anyway I really liked how the old buttons and things made it turn out. I gave this one as a gift but must make another one for myself.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvVpZeRr8HyBO3OQghGgJBFIK0I24TIQqLO2IzRnFlKAEoMxElutFJY7AQdkix0W9g0zplqmlTUz2bi1qEeWGNZTPAoU9boc2l5tv15pmJesW80vR-454-bV2psTR50DgnGnR-wfGkHUTZ/s1600/Feb.+2012+012.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5708820617467447218" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvVpZeRr8HyBO3OQghGgJBFIK0I24TIQqLO2IzRnFlKAEoMxElutFJY7AQdkix0W9g0zplqmlTUz2bi1qEeWGNZTPAoU9boc2l5tv15pmJesW80vR-454-bV2psTR50DgnGnR-wfGkHUTZ/s400/Feb.+2012+012.JPG" border="0" /></a>Another idea that I found on Pinterest were these hangers. I have been into crocheting lately so I decided to give them a try. I thought they turned out nice and gave them along with the banner to my Sister in Law, Kristy for her birthday.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKhQng4u8QqzczQxzWtiez8WGMNuVO3CciGOY7IIjp4xqchg8qLqqbPcSAY9jE_O2PdA9Ib3-YLYwELgI4yCtKAICNkr9QKPNfDHu8avTQqPKXHuQvy3SqdbvIebhcy9gXLwxXhoXoSdrZ/s1600/Feb.+2012+013.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5708820599195340866" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKhQng4u8QqzczQxzWtiez8WGMNuVO3CciGOY7IIjp4xqchg8qLqqbPcSAY9jE_O2PdA9Ib3-YLYwELgI4yCtKAICNkr9QKPNfDHu8avTQqPKXHuQvy3SqdbvIebhcy9gXLwxXhoXoSdrZ/s400/Feb.+2012+013.JPG" border="0" /></a>OK, maybe I am hooked on Pinterest because that is where I found the idea for these cards. Had to make some of them to go along with the above gift and of course had to make some extras too for later. It's always a good feeling to go back to work on Monday's when you feel like you have really accomplished a few thing during the weekend. Humm...tomorrow starts another weekend, will I get anything accomplished? I'll have to let you know because I never know myself until the end of the weekend. I always start the weekend with alot of plans and alot of times things just happen and nothing gets done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another productive weekend. Might even start painting my bedroom.<br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-17946242738032017582012-01-18T10:00:00.000-08:002012-01-18T07:31:23.363-08:00What else have we been doing?What else have we been up to?<br /><br />Well Jessah played on the soccer team of her school.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibuFwi-_xvI4wJ4YNjGArDkxS6yKbXl1egAEw0sBahw9cHzpkeovGM59MEGf3xYJJVPYV854Xb6IUwklzmYaQ70Qyq5ZKoUwcZ2L17WuJZIsTVvKibF87p9dyPmxKtoGki-DuhrGpydzeb/s1600/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+014.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698444782377536466" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibuFwi-_xvI4wJ4YNjGArDkxS6yKbXl1egAEw0sBahw9cHzpkeovGM59MEGf3xYJJVPYV854Xb6IUwklzmYaQ70Qyq5ZKoUwcZ2L17WuJZIsTVvKibF87p9dyPmxKtoGki-DuhrGpydzeb/s400/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+014.JPG" border="0" /></a> Reagen was on the cheer team...<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYx9zumkboKY6AAn-GeD-uhu7WH-PP7py8fKn-iRNWxJXHEFcMa_VlDevyI4OJM4FS4qSC_Xnz4HQUhMc6L4dCHelPdkij0us9NobzpeVf983E1XjZ2NHgiSZm3J4r2WzjxeprVK38Lisj/s1600/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+012.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 300px; display: block; height: 400px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698444774164118802" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYx9zumkboKY6AAn-GeD-uhu7WH-PP7py8fKn-iRNWxJXHEFcMa_VlDevyI4OJM4FS4qSC_Xnz4HQUhMc6L4dCHelPdkij0us9NobzpeVf983E1XjZ2NHgiSZm3J4r2WzjxeprVK38Lisj/s400/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+012.JPG" border="0" /></a> Thane played on a basketball team. Well Faith had a birthday last month and got a new big bike. Shortly after she got it she got going a little to fast and fell off and broke her arm. She has been a real trooper about it tho. She even has a cute smile laying in her hospital bed waiting for her cast.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAXaqJgBosfO53_P_1vHTnDhHbXTY5v6xjsDvh81bwZY1__pCx0ac9RWeiAxPByweLv9lmf9vX1w0kOFuzVksGzEwuKnXeIoJak_cBSFFW1pFxm_SdaGG5yuJEgPYzI53e18JRGZOxDu-L/s1600/Broken+Arm.bmp"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 120px; display: block; height: 160px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698447237111983378" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAXaqJgBosfO53_P_1vHTnDhHbXTY5v6xjsDvh81bwZY1__pCx0ac9RWeiAxPByweLv9lmf9vX1w0kOFuzVksGzEwuKnXeIoJak_cBSFFW1pFxm_SdaGG5yuJEgPYzI53e18JRGZOxDu-L/s400/Broken+Arm.bmp" border="0" /></a> Her first cast was pink. Here it is already January and my last post was way back the first part of Oct. So here is the first of a couple of catch up post. We were busy all fall doing all of our favorite traditions. There is just nothing better than family traditions. In Oct. we did our annual pumpkin carving. All the little ghost and goblins showed up. My sister Kathy fixed us a great meal and then the carving began. We had some really creative pumkins this year.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieEbwWuW6uJBH-WVarmaeDFZ-BNjE46OUs73os-svoKZyWRcFeWh5ByfkwLCgfMzv2MTPtG8Df0UzSVqWFJ8ylNoZtTyzyqkFyc2IIn72eLRGUDU6kVuMym31LKhlmxVVcliO18c4bqul7/s1600/Oct-Nov+028.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698426078150068866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieEbwWuW6uJBH-WVarmaeDFZ-BNjE46OUs73os-svoKZyWRcFeWh5ByfkwLCgfMzv2MTPtG8Df0UzSVqWFJ8ylNoZtTyzyqkFyc2IIn72eLRGUDU6kVuMym31LKhlmxVVcliO18c4bqul7/s400/Oct-Nov+028.JPG" /></a> Moving on now...yes keep up, we are moving rather quickly...to Thanksgiving. Our family's master cook Kathy, my sister cooked dinner for us again. Here are my Mom, Dad and nephew Tate waiting for dinner. I should have posted a picture of her serving table, it looked beautiful and all was delicious. It's great having wonderful family and food to share the holiday's.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI8_860PBTNjblAumB284yT6LGhCr5EnhMebizb0_n1KyDUntI-NqpPiJ2UvXXK1jiQmo-FzHk5FZVX9UyL9sPTIlulxYt_CPB7xj9LgzdSeEoTdfHEsZFQxnSciT2MSBuXSMaG4xHv3Eg/s1600/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+002.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698426078367107154" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI8_860PBTNjblAumB284yT6LGhCr5EnhMebizb0_n1KyDUntI-NqpPiJ2UvXXK1jiQmo-FzHk5FZVX9UyL9sPTIlulxYt_CPB7xj9LgzdSeEoTdfHEsZFQxnSciT2MSBuXSMaG4xHv3Eg/s400/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+002.JPG" /></a> </div><br /><div>Now on to December and our Christmas celebrations. We start out early in the month building our Gingerbread houses at our Gingerbread party with all the gang. Everyone gets so creative. These two boys stopped long enough to let me take their picture before they went back to finishing their houses. I think they might have even eaten a piece of candy or two while decorating their houses. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp62kNQ-EfcQ4uBiQJtiWRgh-1IkKFd9-jgxvuogrrID2fqaqEI5E9yx4hyI6HUSkqmk9vITfomXwL3n9Cns8SlR9wmEi31Z7sRl15oSFrfTQHgK-ZOS3mzU4-ghfSwirBAZmJk_gXgq9M/s1600/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+033.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698426074236013682" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp62kNQ-EfcQ4uBiQJtiWRgh-1IkKFd9-jgxvuogrrID2fqaqEI5E9yx4hyI6HUSkqmk9vITfomXwL3n9Cns8SlR9wmEi31Z7sRl15oSFrfTQHgK-ZOS3mzU4-ghfSwirBAZmJk_gXgq9M/s400/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+033.JPG" /></a><br />One of our favorite traditions for the year is our annual Polar Express party. We have the best time with a game of Christmas Bingo, a craft, a cooking project and always end the evening by watching the Polar Express Movie. Fortunately by then end they were all asleep for the night. By morning they were all ready for our traditional waffles with whipped cream and sprinkles on top. Lucky for me I am the Grandma and don't always have to give them the most healthy breakfast. I am so glad the kids still look forward to this tradition. Here are Reagen and Connor with their reindeer antlers they got to make for one of the crafts.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQTmoRo2fBrfRy587zFLuDghXW9YfHXKAMXY_t51ZGMQf2mnG43Byk-p2reys6UK6jxdLfkgtUbJOQUC_-F87a_G5uR8QwZ5igHprfiSq-uE2SPapR66o9EeCvI81A4d4pWqZ3AN3pYRqy/s1600/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+066.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698426057028627218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQTmoRo2fBrfRy587zFLuDghXW9YfHXKAMXY_t51ZGMQf2mnG43Byk-p2reys6UK6jxdLfkgtUbJOQUC_-F87a_G5uR8QwZ5igHprfiSq-uE2SPapR66o9EeCvI81A4d4pWqZ3AN3pYRqy/s400/Nov%252C+Dec+2011+%2526+Jan+2012+066.JPG" /></a><br />And last but not least was our Christmas Eve gathering. We got to talk to him for about an hour and a half. He looked and sounded so good. We are all anxious for him to return home in May. After our talk with him he got to call both of his Grandmothers which thrilled them both and then Aunt Kathy. Unfortunately Aunt Kathy had to much going on at their house and didn't hear the phone ring so he had to just leave a message there. Sorry guys!</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>So we are caught up a little now. Life gets so busy but I am going to try to get better at posting more often so that I don't have to do so much catching up. Hunter and Connor brought his parents too.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyJN47iz9VgxxldnHYiZfoY94wk0SwrZ9r8OzQcHjqLG5bSWGgK6KLuaiRENuUuXErqNZJva0hFA5fSX9VTDkE-YgHzMKNiYBdC4YLomZ9RmusLsnDJ3IUMhFjUEY2Qx3hwVEY5rYIpNRn/s1600/Sept.+2011+015.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662047229167319250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyJN47iz9VgxxldnHYiZfoY94wk0SwrZ9r8OzQcHjqLG5bSWGgK6KLuaiRENuUuXErqNZJva0hFA5fSX9VTDkE-YgHzMKNiYBdC4YLomZ9RmusLsnDJ3IUMhFjUEY2Qx3hwVEY5rYIpNRn/s400/Sept.+2011+015.JPG" /></a> I found them all investigating something and had to go check things out for myself.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJkRsX1__CH5KtcUAK2PdiR7suiJ2HotutznXfbOqOS4wSMJvYdBBZ4V_8ABLjTsOFWSG-aU2pjHFDecNfvmROqK35Y5hpbOjrAcaHKzZQ_jm_SSbw-UHSa1a2gW6M8wYdvqJzAMFuP6kv/s1600/Sept.+2011+001.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662047223425384162" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJkRsX1__CH5KtcUAK2PdiR7suiJ2HotutznXfbOqOS4wSMJvYdBBZ4V_8ABLjTsOFWSG-aU2pjHFDecNfvmROqK35Y5hpbOjrAcaHKzZQ_jm_SSbw-UHSa1a2gW6M8wYdvqJzAMFuP6kv/s400/Sept.+2011+001.JPG" /></a><br />They had found some fuzzy caterpillers. I know I have had this jeep featured on my blog before, it is definately a favorite of the grand kids, but the poor old thing has seen better days. After charging the battery and installing it the kids all jumped in and pressed the gas pedal. It surged forward about 6 inches and stalled to never start again. It has been run hard for about 6 years. This little guy, Connor, didn't care that there wasn't much life to it. He loved having it all to himself most of the weekend. If it wasn't moving the others really didn't want to mess with it but this guy put his friend in it and pretended to drive around the countryside all weekend...and I might say he talked to whole way. His poor friend couldn't get a word in.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3etleAU_hPNOu0P8rBxgnCpM_urw0S3WB_K8xpTY2s4biYjf36aADglLUaXM5CHl7N-gRckWMcaGcLI6gViGnzFojhTyVpOLo13rMZwLdbYA97Nv_Jhwu-DQLJ8AfSakLJCvqsT3pcyAJ/s1600/Sept.+2011+009.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662047196832480962" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3etleAU_hPNOu0P8rBxgnCpM_urw0S3WB_K8xpTY2s4biYjf36aADglLUaXM5CHl7N-gRckWMcaGcLI6gViGnzFojhTyVpOLo13rMZwLdbYA97Nv_Jhwu-DQLJ8AfSakLJCvqsT3pcyAJ/s400/Sept.+2011+009.JPG" /></a> He made sure his friend was with him the whole way. They totally enjoyed each others company. I'm not sure what all they discussed but I am sure it was important. When Connor's parents left for a bit I made his dad put the jeep inside the fence around the yard so that I could keep better track of him and he was totally insulted. He didn't like being trapped in. I don't know if he realized that when he was in the driveway he really wasn't going anywhere anyway. As soon as they returned he had his dad put him back on the open road again. He kept himself entertain (well his friend too) and was just so much fun to watch. We might even have to get a new battery for the jeep and bring it back to life.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDKVw8yUHILzMrDO8cY_AP8nrCmPu6VRpcxXG7RYHnGBkA4jXNxOA5hK45SfFQTWcDVkSCN7pCw9fADuHSWzZKaVfFRmAUEE5XntYi07hbVCr7dbKnr2goxFfLo-NHTCkgKXT264l768nm/s1600/Sept.+2011+016.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662047195281498946" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDKVw8yUHILzMrDO8cY_AP8nrCmPu6VRpcxXG7RYHnGBkA4jXNxOA5hK45SfFQTWcDVkSCN7pCw9fADuHSWzZKaVfFRmAUEE5XntYi07hbVCr7dbKnr2goxFfLo-NHTCkgKXT264l768nm/s400/Sept.+2011+016.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-39429978328234288992011-10-10T18:21:00.000-07:002011-10-10T18:46:21.230-07:00Weekend Fun!So this is how my weekend went. Friday before I finished work I got a text from this cutie asking if she could spend the night plleeeeeaassee! I had a friends wedding reception to go to Friday night and a baby shower on Saturday morning but how could I refuse such a plea. So I thought "oh well I will now have a partner to go with", so I told her to come on over when I got off work. We went to the reception and then went home and started watching a movie and ate some popcorn. She said she wasn't sleeping on the sofa but before I knew it she was sound asleep right on the sofa so there she stayed.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpJrQqBxm1167E6wHdlnBpNBw6vnPYTCgnyBQMyTAl_-JWJIre1720pbCfbAOAq4t8a1rdTSEHcLTdOj0kdB_KxNIexDQHMw7akwAnCLBxSckwK6VNU8QSqLFvNbA8FO5NgAoOA6Sd7dq9/s1600/Sept.+2011+037.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662040882132611474" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpJrQqBxm1167E6wHdlnBpNBw6vnPYTCgnyBQMyTAl_-JWJIre1720pbCfbAOAq4t8a1rdTSEHcLTdOj0kdB_KxNIexDQHMw7akwAnCLBxSckwK6VNU8QSqLFvNbA8FO5NgAoOA6Sd7dq9/s400/Sept.+2011+037.JPG" /></a> After the baby shower on Sat. morning we called these 2 other cuties and had them come over so that we could go to the park and enjoy the beautiful weather we were having. We grabbed some pizza and rootbeer for our dinner and the kids had a great time playing on the playground. <br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht8IBjoR5NSugJJPIeKCIIOfexLdCSreCea2AS219sOYdEDG9TIAX0ueAh0p_vodjAWHY5NMF8IuIfVqJmYblkYVSW9_STMTMWGRS6_azjxllWoRBB6kZTlxyxm-hyTSHdDS65tG1ppl-2/s1600/Sept.+2011+026.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662040876175695906" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht8IBjoR5NSugJJPIeKCIIOfexLdCSreCea2AS219sOYdEDG9TIAX0ueAh0p_vodjAWHY5NMF8IuIfVqJmYblkYVSW9_STMTMWGRS6_azjxllWoRBB6kZTlxyxm-hyTSHdDS65tG1ppl-2/s400/Sept.+2011+026.JPG" /></a><br />Here is our cute little Faithy...<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitUfAKN3QehrKzhz1V7-w2tUBGeRm5PfOTR_5x-eGzUltNjL3kjIYfSgytzJfAgC-eew1OMLsfbJ_0DOA9LCV6gijgpzArN7Eel_EvzH4ZFBpac0RHJA799LYfXJ2_zW57WcQBusb389Gy/s1600/Sept.+2011+030.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662040861171158866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitUfAKN3QehrKzhz1V7-w2tUBGeRm5PfOTR_5x-eGzUltNjL3kjIYfSgytzJfAgC-eew1OMLsfbJ_0DOA9LCV6gijgpzArN7Eel_EvzH4ZFBpac0RHJA799LYfXJ2_zW57WcQBusb389Gy/s400/Sept.+2011+030.JPG" /></a> this handsome fella Thane...<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbkohnCGl84N5INb69L2qAy48vmGP8lL19Lu_8eSChYAJVF6INHwctkib0w4qxUub_gHPzJ33RuUBlD-Pp6G35LZA73UhSp9Gj_zbKGptwkrM-F_od6rBJtXd4JP9kcZbJN5s08KhXBnlB/s1600/Sept.+2011+029.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662040855512277666" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbkohnCGl84N5INb69L2qAy48vmGP8lL19Lu_8eSChYAJVF6INHwctkib0w4qxUub_gHPzJ33RuUBlD-Pp6G35LZA73UhSp9Gj_zbKGptwkrM-F_od6rBJtXd4JP9kcZbJN5s08KhXBnlB/s400/Sept.+2011+029.JPG" /></a><br />and the always beautiful Reagen.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDdWG8S_k38l9CFm__rcIIEfKxyYp251BmQ8ynBVos3CVwdjcI7rG86t4oM6OEhCO8yC3AZmhYpmGIU8A3x6VSk5U_slGfbPzJY7N5k4ukOujhrIS5WpFTenDdb7Wni5cOQVHyIde-r4Rx/s1600/Sept.+2011+035.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662040848316567682" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDdWG8S_k38l9CFm__rcIIEfKxyYp251BmQ8ynBVos3CVwdjcI7rG86t4oM6OEhCO8yC3AZmhYpmGIU8A3x6VSk5U_slGfbPzJY7N5k4ukOujhrIS5WpFTenDdb7Wni5cOQVHyIde-r4Rx/s400/Sept.+2011+035.JPG" /></a> The park was a great idea ...not only was the weather absolutely wonderful but the kids played and played and when we went home they decided they needed to spend the night with Grandma so they took a bath and fell fast asleep. Hunter's school class was having "Grandparents Day". What alot of fun we had. You will have to excuse the blurry pictures, this grandma wasn't thinking and forgot my camera and had to take these pictures with my phone...you can probably tell I don't have a smart phone. We started out with the kids all sitting at their tables and the teacher, Mrs. Ortega showed us the routine they went through each morning taking roll, doing the pledge and sitting in circle time greeting each other. We then got to start activities at 4 different stations. This shows Hunter at the beading station. I made him a beaded bracelet and he made me one. We also got one started for his Nana (his other grandma that couldn't be there) but that we didn't finish, Hunter was able to later in class.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVX0H3QDuH8FVNwqGjo0ZHpMuh5-XsA03J2CrQtORQDqODZVv1nat95HThPoU88zR4as5z-KwwycutscYYjd1TpmM4h5uOfTO0LNDI6vbD6OkIv9ehCbdpAKvzvEbIWnzVYsyW1LxbRpPg/s1600/Hunter+3.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651183967214052466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVX0H3QDuH8FVNwqGjo0ZHpMuh5-XsA03J2CrQtORQDqODZVv1nat95HThPoU88zR4as5z-KwwycutscYYjd1TpmM4h5uOfTO0LNDI6vbD6OkIv9ehCbdpAKvzvEbIWnzVYsyW1LxbRpPg/s400/Hunter+3.jpg" /></a> We also had a playdough station with some fun cookie cutter shapes. Here is he and I working on some fun cookies...not edible tho. An interesting note...you might notice that our pictures don't show any of the other kids. At the beginning the teacher explained to us we would be allowed to take pictures of our own grandchild but because of privacy rules we were not allow to have the other students in our pictures. How times have changed.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRyDRZpy0_OYloBoqO5gTmBZvM7c5xTixcudMp30GB_eLhiBOhcHJmI1SECvXfKh03UubROxlfma_kZ0TjHA5W-_EmvkR2VFkjqIKZcy3GObDDb9Zy8BPF19O9lHNi_oUZEWn9pueW1xGX/s1600/Hunter1.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651183968055194002" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRyDRZpy0_OYloBoqO5gTmBZvM7c5xTixcudMp30GB_eLhiBOhcHJmI1SECvXfKh03UubROxlfma_kZ0TjHA5W-_EmvkR2VFkjqIKZcy3GObDDb9Zy8BPF19O9lHNi_oUZEWn9pueW1xGX/s400/Hunter1.jpg" /></a> Here is Hunter working on a puzzle at the puzzle center. We decided that Hunter could do this and send it to Nana too so that she wouldn't feel left out. <br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPxMFJcpCphf-rjKVzZ9EF1XWWrxQSVMPCgBycCJYoWf9dnSt51yovqlr1iSzJ41FsFc1mvEeSlFkMB4m4D_MYUfR2qg3UKeyBs-V5N9NrRSW8y2Mc45QYMvlf4ErWxuLc4Wa4V26kzRqt/s1600/Hunter.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651183961581148274" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPxMFJcpCphf-rjKVzZ9EF1XWWrxQSVMPCgBycCJYoWf9dnSt51yovqlr1iSzJ41FsFc1mvEeSlFkMB4m4D_MYUfR2qg3UKeyBs-V5N9NrRSW8y2Mc45QYMvlf4ErWxuLc4Wa4V26kzRqt/s400/Hunter.jpg" /></a> We ended everything with the students singing a song to the Grandparents and we all joined in on doing the "Hokey Pokey" and having a treat of cookies and crackers. The Hokey Pokey was mine and Hunters favorite. It was then time for the Grandma's and Grandpa's to go home and the kiddies were off to the playground...some with teary eyes including mine which made it hard to leave. Thanks Hunter for inviting me. I had a great time!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-59978684425818118402011-08-27T18:03:00.000-07:002011-08-27T23:36:57.486-07:00More AlaskaTomorrow is my last day here in Alaska...actually half day. I leave to travel home in the afternoon and I am so sad. I could stay easily another week. I brought a few stitching projects with me (of which none got done) and a book that only got partially read but I have never had one dull moment. This black bear below is what we watched all day yesterday but I never had my camera with me when he was around to get a good shot of him. This was taken while we ate dinner through the dining room window. I had to zoom it to get a close enough shot and by the time I did all this he turned around and was heading away from me. We spotted him early in the morning, he had found some trash to get into. Even after the trash was gone he kept coming back. I guess he was hoping for more. I never saw him again after dinner but I heard he was spotted even the next morning. I am a little disappointed that I never got to see any moose...oh well, I guess I will just have to come back again.

It is a little late in the season for the cruise and pretty chilly but we did see some whale, lots of birds, some Mountain Goats and these sea lions. There were quite a few of them and they were just hanging out being lazy. We also saw alot of sea otters. They are all over in the ocean flipped over on the backs relaxing. All you see is their head and feet sticking out.

We stopped in one area where they were breaking off into the water. As we sat there several times you would hear a loud thunder and then al huge chunk would come tumbling down into the water. We went through miles of water with chunks of ice floating in it. The park ranger that was with us explained that each day now more will fall off before they would build up again in the winter, but there are many miles of these glaciers that we couldn't see so they would never disappear completely. Well at least not in our life time anyway. He did show us a time lapse diagram of how over many years they are gradually disappearing.

It is a trip that I hopefully will get to make again. I have enjoyed every minute I was here thanks to Carla and all of her family here at the lodge. And even more thanks to my great boss that gave me this opportunity to come.

It ended up raining all night and I wondered if we would still go but this morning it was still on. The chef here at Glacier Bay Country Inn packed us each a sack lunch and we (I, most everyone else already had some) went to the Inn's stash of rain geer and water proof boots and each of us outfitted ourselves. Then off we went to Glacier Bay National Park where their boat was docked.

It was still raining a little off and on but when everyone arrive we all headed out to sea. As we traveled along we saw whale and sea otters. The water was real choppy and rough today and we were being bounced around in the boat quite a bit.
<br />

<br />They then started setting up fishing poles for us. I was assigned a fishing pole and told what to look for if a fish decided to take a bite. The water was still very rough and choppy. After not to long of a time I got a bit and I started reeling it in. About the same time CeeDee also got a bite on her line. Sorry this picture is sideways, I couldn't figure out how to turn it.

It was decided that this was a pretty big fish so they quickly got CeeDee's fish in first and then about that time a third pole had a fish on it's line. That one they got in quickly and ended up letting it go because it was to small. I finally decided that I was going to need some help, so one of the guys took over for me. It actually took 2 of them to pull my halibut in. In this picture I look like I am smiling, which I might have been, but believe me I was struggling too.

Mine is the BIG one. It measured about 61' and weighted in approximately 127 lbs. It was so heavy that I couldn't hold it up. After we brought in these two we decided to head back in since the water was getting so rough and we had several in our group not feeling very well. After we got back to the dock Mark filet my fish for me. He was a real expert at it, probably because he has done it for so many of their guest this summer. Now hopefully I will be able to get it home.

My boss at work gave me a trip to his family's lodge, Glacier Bay Country Inn in Gastavas, Alaska. I have been so excited to go all summer. I have to say it is beautiful and all the Lindbloms here have been so gracious. It was a long day traveling to get here but it has been so worth it. Today I took a day and just hung out and rested. I met Lesli who had been a guest here all week and we spent the day with her telling everything I needed to do and try. Unfortunately today was her last day and she flew out to go back to her home in Tennessee tonight. This is a picture of the lodge. We have had a light mist all day so that might be why this picture is a little fuzzy, it was taken through the rain.
<br />
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCAOUnRDXhL7vivpiZ_tq3je8vCglPhNKKPRcfXRJsBNPKd3JkMl70IuUC30KLM0sOodm5MY6T9VV9Hncm792WoBMytXC5pktLq20KAkl3kLFBZaYzu3EmBVhyphenhyphenVR6FyDe1CuDV2pLrgSUD/s1600/Alaska+011.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5644678125979303538" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCAOUnRDXhL7vivpiZ_tq3je8vCglPhNKKPRcfXRJsBNPKd3JkMl70IuUC30KLM0sOodm5MY6T9VV9Hncm792WoBMytXC5pktLq20KAkl3kLFBZaYzu3EmBVhyphenhyphenVR6FyDe1CuDV2pLrgSUD/s400/Alaska+011.JPG" /></a> This is a little closer look at the lodge. The dining room of the lodge looks out onto a large meadow that I just know I am going to look out and see moose or maybe even a bear wandering through. Apparently there is a mother bear and 3 cubs that have been hanging around the area lately. I would love to see them...in the daylight.

I am sure there is alot of story telling going on here.

Beside the guest bedrooms in the lodge there are 5 of these little cabins. I get to stay in one of these. I even have my very own front porch where I just might grab a few minutes doing a little bit of the hand stitching I brought along...yes I even brought stitching to Alaska. I loved listening to the light rain all night on the tin roof.

<br />This is little glimpse of the inside of the cabin. Very cute and cozy. Warm comfy flannel sheets on all the beds. It's hard to imagine flannel sheets coming from the 113 degree weather we were having before. Very cute and cozy.

Tomorrow is our English missionary's birthday. We have all his packages send and hope he has received them so he can celebrate. I even sent him a cake mix and frosting for his celebration...humm I wonder if he will be able to figure out how to make that? With 2 older sisters he has never had to make such things.

He was excited to start the celebrations. He loves to eat eggs when he is here at my house so that is what we had...eggs and bannana muffins (cupcakes?). It was a small little party but these cute sisters came to celebrate too.

Our family tradition is to head up north to celebrate the 4th in Heber, AZ. Because of the fire danger this year the 4th was a little different. There weren't going to be any fireworks this year. This hasn't happened in the 9 years we have had our place there. But tradition is tradition so I headed north for the long weekend. I ended up sitting on my porch and watching nature most of the weekend. This is what I was watching....<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8aoT6KXQ-UTP26VHU_bopnTCWHcDjNA_X4Tl_eqXidbcQX-vAE90KIKG5DL743jAiTa1Qm1_MYn1izYOIBL5Gy_Ftf34TsNtdI01ZTeYCFn7V_NW80aJHK6YnNL2qeWIM6MORO4urPUOI/s1600/July+2011+002.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630530800239143346" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8aoT6KXQ-UTP26VHU_bopnTCWHcDjNA_X4Tl_eqXidbcQX-vAE90KIKG5DL743jAiTa1Qm1_MYn1izYOIBL5Gy_Ftf34TsNtdI01ZTeYCFn7V_NW80aJHK6YnNL2qeWIM6MORO4urPUOI/s400/July+2011+002.JPG" border="0" /></a> Right above me were these cute little toddlers. I could tell they looked like they were ready to leave the next but Mama bird kept bring them their food so I think they were a little hesitant to leave. Sure enough before the weekend was over they were gone. Poor Mama bird didn't see it coming I don't think, she just kept bringing the goodies to an empty nest. Sorry Mama, we don't always have control on these children of ours.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQtPidu3HSJKj2deqHf0EP4Ch3R_M9oAFImzIUEsfTNzP81JrZqAqidCyMLYObSXfZKJe55h_FAn7w0ub26yRTGHdc_vfRvtQg4YT6xNmLAZ3smyEot5Qugnd-k94DXKiqU2UgbpiXLbHP/s1600/July+2011+001.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630530795734950466" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQtPidu3HSJKj2deqHf0EP4Ch3R_M9oAFImzIUEsfTNzP81JrZqAqidCyMLYObSXfZKJe55h_FAn7w0ub26yRTGHdc_vfRvtQg4YT6xNmLAZ3smyEot5Qugnd-k94DXKiqU2UgbpiXLbHP/s400/July+2011+001.JPG" border="0" /></a> Then down a little further down the porch I was watching this cute little humming bird sitting on her nest. I had to keep my distance from here, she wasn't really into someone watching her. The little nest was only about an 1 1/2 inch across. I have some decorative lights along the porch and her nest was actually sitting on the cord. My nephew came by and climbed up and saw in the nest there were 2 little eggs. He said they were a little smaller than a jelly bean. I can't wait to get back up there and see the progress.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiimTYWqxy4JzAFV8ffR4PGVTVzz-9SrMUtd6UD8mCsrJyMT2SbICir3OzR6c2_3BwcaHT2N7JSSMY48vY3e9u5BugpAA8u9_HjQRx98-2AP_styNQkQdjugEhgJHxcj7Zq8N6O3yxT_eqd/s1600/July+2011+017.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630530792221464898" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiimTYWqxy4JzAFV8ffR4PGVTVzz-9SrMUtd6UD8mCsrJyMT2SbICir3OzR6c2_3BwcaHT2N7JSSMY48vY3e9u5BugpAA8u9_HjQRx98-2AP_styNQkQdjugEhgJHxcj7Zq8N6O3yxT_eqd/s400/July+2011+017.JPG" border="0" /></a> I returned in time to celebrate the 4th with these 2 cute boys. They had bought some fireworks to shoot off in their street. This is Connor with his sparkler.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Ey8qsLusCundxZMLSfRuG8VI6itusFnzkF5LACfhy0w530VRDG7VTgsCCNoHi-WuqG9TQhVM5Yi6DzZ4TAK2Pad8jW8ETwvzIz_5pQK6c_OcwQgbx_afLJX2om8gSMWlJovyBlHQ8MsD/s1600/July+2011+008.JPG"><img style="text-align: center; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; display: block; height: 300px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630530788299651762" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Ey8qsLusCundxZMLSfRuG8VI6itusFnzkF5LACfhy0w530VRDG7VTgsCCNoHi-WuqG9TQhVM5Yi6DzZ4TAK2Pad8jW8ETwvzIz_5pQK6c_OcwQgbx_afLJX2om8gSMWlJovyBlHQ8MsD/s400/July+2011+008.JPG" border="0" /></a> Here is Hunter showing off his firework stash. Unfortunately the wind became to strong, making it unsafe to shoot off all of these. Hunter and Connor will have to safe them for next year.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-80008795427359798132011-07-18T06:00:00.000-07:002011-07-18T06:00:14.060-07:00Happy Birthday Carrie Lissa!Today is my daughter Carrie's 25th birthday. We celebrated on Sat. with a little luncheon (I will blog on that another time). Here Carrie is with her cousin, Katie. See that little bunny Carrie is holding, well I made that for her on her 3rd birthday. Through the years it had gotten dirty and the head was coming unstitched and it just needed some general repairs. She gave it to me quite a while back to fix. It has been sitting in my sewing room a long time so I decided to get it out of my way, fix it and give it back.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-GU8rj5_sm_3D0y0LshMj7NubQQi7DMYOj06cCQnb0mV9AKiADXyVWBM9CsRNeKgd712SHZIn8fPq4JyaW4otPvkBRyxFaUGnB49Y3Mo5HyODJPID4_aMj6S6dVpzF9RUVBa8CuJPGb5n/s1600/July+2011+033.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630522994915945314" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-GU8rj5_sm_3D0y0LshMj7NubQQi7DMYOj06cCQnb0mV9AKiADXyVWBM9CsRNeKgd712SHZIn8fPq4JyaW4otPvkBRyxFaUGnB49Y3Mo5HyODJPID4_aMj6S6dVpzF9RUVBa8CuJPGb5n/s400/July+2011+033.JPG" /></a> <br /><div><br /><div>As I was undressing it to wash and iron the clothes I found this....I had forgotten I had written a message on it's bottom. It says "Happy 3rd Birthday Carrie, Love, Mommy. After I read that I decided to get it all cleaned up and give it back to her for her birthday. Very lightly there is some writing that she added which says "I miss Heather". Her best friend had moved away and she was missing her. </div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlNSq57uC8W8n4g_3lk25WgLlOydKFjTO4j2wTkYWDezPhgEYFsX6A4h6fywF7z82pnd8yRWKxctbaTXexGt55BI_mRlCeS2yQDf-bHv9iEmeig9ukpV1arfOW6owVQKFjrNhgj43f6zGp/s1600/June+2011+002.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630521586857742354" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlNSq57uC8W8n4g_3lk25WgLlOydKFjTO4j2wTkYWDezPhgEYFsX6A4h6fywF7z82pnd8yRWKxctbaTXexGt55BI_mRlCeS2yQDf-bHv9iEmeig9ukpV1arfOW6owVQKFjrNhgj43f6zGp/s400/June+2011+002.JPG" /></a><br />Here is her Bunny all clean and laid out on the back table to dry. I stitched and repaired her and I ironed everything and redressed her and gave her back to it rightful owner at the birthday luncheon. I know its almost the end of June but here is my little June calendar quilt. I really had it done and displayed by the first part of the month. I need to get going now on July. It will be so nice to have them all done...some day maybe!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkEAFyeGP5DWC7mtDkz3cLQTrwT9UTIBoo9bzHoLL2umoKgfAR40og1yADwgcY40w4_-N1HZQeU6Iix0Cbfv848TvJi46oId_aXlcewxWeti79k6DMgjvNx-v08AGGisCXA6WUsCk2-5r2/s1600/June+2011+009.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620532154236432322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkEAFyeGP5DWC7mtDkz3cLQTrwT9UTIBoo9bzHoLL2umoKgfAR40og1yADwgcY40w4_-N1HZQeU6Iix0Cbfv848TvJi46oId_aXlcewxWeti79k6DMgjvNx-v08AGGisCXA6WUsCk2-5r2/s400/June+2011+009.JPG" /></a> I was also invited to a wedding reception for one of the guys that I work with, Josh. Josh is my "Monday morning texting friend". He is now working out of Utah so every Monday morning I start texting him to find out how many hours I need to pay him for. Humm...seems like he should be texting me. Anyway I put together this cute bright table runner for my gift for Josh and his new wife. Congrats Josh!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnVBHHcVbk2c3iy0VGpIcQVN6S2mU8-quW3dDxc8FFyU_ESk0fZ1-lhDtEjTQTx81eJuk5J15acUVYmgfWxm6E7WFwycAPGJNTRRfbLMcInaglHfpZ6xNfZYpqikx3Shm2ycvXQMXeTI7V/s1600/June+2011+010.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620532145750609794" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnVBHHcVbk2c3iy0VGpIcQVN6S2mU8-quW3dDxc8FFyU_ESk0fZ1-lhDtEjTQTx81eJuk5J15acUVYmgfWxm6E7WFwycAPGJNTRRfbLMcInaglHfpZ6xNfZYpqikx3Shm2ycvXQMXeTI7V/s400/June+2011+010.JPG" /></a> My sister also had a birthday this month so I whipped up one of these cute snap bags and put it with some Bath and Body products (got those at their semi annual sale...great prices). These little bags are so fast and easy to make. I need to make some more to just have on hand.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU4nRKIlN_hMEzQSJ02kEHD-fVwVmq7TDazYVr-L9A90pz7uIRtD7Dwbr3f1W8dX99kBWqSJK2ih3IfSsDYVwFh7iXvfgHeDO7CyIPRJGwh_HeBRuQkme_-E7kCaIK2xj-Mq3A82o6zp6G/s1600/June+2011+005.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620532142233219346" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU4nRKIlN_hMEzQSJ02kEHD-fVwVmq7TDazYVr-L9A90pz7uIRtD7Dwbr3f1W8dX99kBWqSJK2ih3IfSsDYVwFh7iXvfgHeDO7CyIPRJGwh_HeBRuQkme_-E7kCaIK2xj-Mq3A82o6zp6G/s400/June+2011+005.JPG" /></a> Along with the above gift I threw in a set of these crochet coasters that I have been making. It was kind of a "hodge podge" of stuff gift. These have been really fun to make. Remember at the beginning of the year I was going to do a "gift" project each month? Well I am behind on that but these were one of those projects. This is a good on going project. She started out by making jam. She made strawberry and blackberry. She was going to give it as her Father's Day Gifts.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqY9Qf0fpjpZLam_y42YjIcDEKR7WIJJBe90WCTCapwHsopbQnBaqwWmlz_mYiZWAKo7QxJC_0g3QwVnGdfOteG5biqpYg2na0PEv7dwA1eu86ZoNt7qxEXxi-PzUlnWVQ_Q0ZIgu5F9od/s1600/June+2011+002.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620521627402656242" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqY9Qf0fpjpZLam_y42YjIcDEKR7WIJJBe90WCTCapwHsopbQnBaqwWmlz_mYiZWAKo7QxJC_0g3QwVnGdfOteG5biqpYg2na0PEv7dwA1eu86ZoNt7qxEXxi-PzUlnWVQ_Q0ZIgu5F9od/s400/June+2011+002.JPG" /></a> Here is her stack of jam ready to go into the freezer. It is soooo good. She didn't stop there, she just kept cooking.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTj3kulutrGvQ2qztxqAuyC-Ig3q9ez-nHpJXHFPOmyePu8kzTtYduoV-BH4OrR0KtKAeHcWsxwZlrkAlXn7_mxYd-Bavn1TQO8mVhUDGZmgvHq5aOvSMwlnbnyKrjQr1Lco56RK_2H08K/s1600/June+2011+003.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620521619359212546" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTj3kulutrGvQ2qztxqAuyC-Ig3q9ez-nHpJXHFPOmyePu8kzTtYduoV-BH4OrR0KtKAeHcWsxwZlrkAlXn7_mxYd-Bavn1TQO8mVhUDGZmgvHq5aOvSMwlnbnyKrjQr1Lco56RK_2H08K/s400/June+2011+003.JPG" /></a> The next cooking project were these cinnamon rolls. This was before she put frosting on. These were also for Father's day or you might say "future Fathers" Day. The girls in her single branch passed these out to the guys there since they will be fathers in the future.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKgVyJWM0MaUGBBeVIN_ejvSznqZ0a06vGMxYLJppEWLsmzHaHbd9sGMOwEaB96G1cKiasRXAS1xWBlxFG-8Z6svjwLlNFta3q-9J9mOX7Qu0lpXPlaQTJoFmocY2pDPIZUhedtPnjP47x/s1600/June+2011+011.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620521611883045826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKgVyJWM0MaUGBBeVIN_ejvSznqZ0a06vGMxYLJppEWLsmzHaHbd9sGMOwEaB96G1cKiasRXAS1xWBlxFG-8Z6svjwLlNFta3q-9J9mOX7Qu0lpXPlaQTJoFmocY2pDPIZUhedtPnjP47x/s400/June+2011+011.JPG" /></a> Then she had another activity planned with her friends and Beth put together this veggie platter. Does she ever stop? No she just kept going. She also put made some delicious biscuits to give out with her jam and also a cake. Lastly she cooked dinner for her dad and brothers. Humm...did I forget anything? She was in the kitchen most of the weekend.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSzBx-bY_vNADHSKMLc3e23NN4qC_-TgazgLyfl3WgHTuIL38HR5d5dEN3ouMBjhXB1_-xpu_2jibrxfMU_SIxy35lXbV6L0icL8_uZZMxyKSqS6oTy9Qow9NIsBKx3g0KJRy1omry8wLL/s1600/June+2011+012.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620521602333072034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSzBx-bY_vNADHSKMLc3e23NN4qC_-TgazgLyfl3WgHTuIL38HR5d5dEN3ouMBjhXB1_-xpu_2jibrxfMU_SIxy35lXbV6L0icL8_uZZMxyKSqS6oTy9Qow9NIsBKx3g0KJRy1omry8wLL/s400/June+2011+012.JPG" /></a> On Sunday I asked her if she was sick of cooking/baking and she said "No, just sick of doing dishes". Unfortunately for her our dishwasher is not working right now. Sorry Beth but everything turned out great. BTW...I got to be the taste tester. Lucky me!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-42424261105582895072011-06-20T21:26:00.001-07:002011-06-20T21:47:27.048-07:00Father's DayThis weekend, like many of you, we celebrated Father's Day. It was also my youngest sister, Amy's birthday, so we started out the morning at Kathy's house for breakfast. It wasn't a big celebration, just the 3 sisters and our parents. My niece and nephew showed up a little later. Kathy fixed us a wonderful breakfast and then before we left we decided we sisters needed a picture with dad. <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvO1byeX88h5QFEDW50aaiv0QFjVhUbxODyhD9oIdXIQMCArQxE3Y1Bmq6WkF2akAyUXqDXCXFFhbIpsJwWqgulOcp3oqTjh4-TQfbyGfiJOEY2yKU7gBi_bYCjS774iYIkuHgEvn5xwCD/s1600/June+2011+014.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620525618584772642" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvO1byeX88h5QFEDW50aaiv0QFjVhUbxODyhD9oIdXIQMCArQxE3Y1Bmq6WkF2akAyUXqDXCXFFhbIpsJwWqgulOcp3oqTjh4-TQfbyGfiJOEY2yKU7gBi_bYCjS774iYIkuHgEvn5xwCD/s400/June+2011+014.JPG" /></a>While we were at it we needed a picture with Mom too. Mom and Dad also celebrated their 60th anniversary this last week. Alot to celebrate. Thanks Kathy for having us over for breakfast. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2nkHpbTFS0M5Qv-NaEQXYs_QLh4rcjofGH36HQ1-AOYQH8ccw6iP5C_V6NyoF7DHxe46ARCWFczs3fjl9anFRWiZw26Og11eTF7ohu3lkOocJ8xpyVjwM8o4B0PN4T0vP8ihm3g1Cjcm/s1600/June+2011+017.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620525608170849250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2nkHpbTFS0M5Qv-NaEQXYs_QLh4rcjofGH36HQ1-AOYQH8ccw6iP5C_V6NyoF7DHxe46ARCWFczs3fjl9anFRWiZw26Og11eTF7ohu3lkOocJ8xpyVjwM8o4B0PN4T0vP8ihm3g1Cjcm/s400/June+2011+017.JPG" /></a> We didn't end our celebrations here...we officially celebrated Father's Day later that afternoon with a BBQ hosted by my niece, Darcy and her husband, Sean. We had some wonderful hamburgers. Thanks Darcy and Sean! Happy Father's Day Dad, you and Mom are the best. And lastly...Happy Birthday Amy!<br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-3119991927446975882011-06-17T18:29:00.000-07:002011-06-17T19:01:27.367-07:00We're in the Army now!For the past two and a half weeks Tom (my oldest son) has been at his yearly Army National Guard training. The location of this was at Camp Navajo just outside of Flagstaff. Last Sat. was Family Day so I loaded his kids, Reagen, Thane and Faith, up in the car and headed north to visit him. The kids were excited since they hadn't seen him in almost 2 weeks. As we entered this the first sign we had that we were now on base. <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGLDlVodTA-pNu-U5glRARn3fnlDId2IbRSZXa54TePtWldsj2mUajf7idWRIvi5WtVpJTF6_23UkWyGbN7hmLlsg16oTXOpVqRs4PgDDk14UydGCLKZi89gjYnT0iJ3S0UMcaQrFWXOHd/s1600/June+2011+010.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5619367868412443138" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGLDlVodTA-pNu-U5glRARn3fnlDId2IbRSZXa54TePtWldsj2mUajf7idWRIvi5WtVpJTF6_23UkWyGbN7hmLlsg16oTXOpVqRs4PgDDk14UydGCLKZi89gjYnT0iJ3S0UMcaQrFWXOHd/s400/June+2011+010.JPG" /></a> The morning activities were games with each unit competing against each other with the families cheering them on. Here is a tug of war that we got to see. That's Tom at the very end. Unfortunately they lost this competition but his group did win at Kickball. After all the games the guys (and gals) were release to spend some time with their families. They were having a BBQ with some wonderful looking hamburgers but after spending 2 weeks on base Tom was ready to leave and get some pizza, so thats what we did.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix6cQZVQe6xw8PEmQDbn6p7esv9LqG4ClznSlisaAFdZM28balD9hXyzZqTW7w_37z5hOverqeYJm6byFHryKEJzyVwNqmqCWmSfvRo6_aCk4ZVRUsu_u57bE4OVFKHomW9o4ZkNIyWLHV/s1600/June+2011+006.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5619367856412618450" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix6cQZVQe6xw8PEmQDbn6p7esv9LqG4ClznSlisaAFdZM28balD9hXyzZqTW7w_37z5hOverqeYJm6byFHryKEJzyVwNqmqCWmSfvRo6_aCk4ZVRUsu_u57bE4OVFKHomW9o4ZkNIyWLHV/s400/June+2011+006.JPG" /></a> On our way out Tom showed us around a little and the Thane wanted to look at the Army vehicles. Here are Tom and the kids with a few of them. The base was actually pretty nice. Most of the buildings were pretty new. I guess I was expecting it not to be as nice as it was.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwjNDA8e-S64dB8tXAonYwguW-wldaOuNhvZKB1evwI0oU_ha4-2aTbaSuoyYWBB_er7_wSQlb0BB-S5aOqbFPRcRUamcYGZ4KEb2_I6MWhD2Pfwb27AceugpdP714IyayhgBytGRhtHym/s1600/June+2011+008.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5619367848051599506" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwjNDA8e-S64dB8tXAonYwguW-wldaOuNhvZKB1evwI0oU_ha4-2aTbaSuoyYWBB_er7_wSQlb0BB-S5aOqbFPRcRUamcYGZ4KEb2_I6MWhD2Pfwb27AceugpdP714IyayhgBytGRhtHym/s400/June+2011+008.JPG" /></a> The kids loved seeing where Dad had been hanging out. About 4:30 the kids and I headed back to the valley and Tom was going to take a much needed nap on a bed. He had been camping out and sleeping on the ground so a bed sounded very inviting.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvvZbfpDQYfSc9NS6Kj82e3GwKlxmkoLeFJbXel-YHnZcueY4QzVGaKRm7lIMS-z8jQbWZvROzDw1Cz-uh4aSCiFlRu5oc8PMZEiTFZuw3Wh5lQ7Wz39sFAQVYN_ofatfLtY0O88fSdbJV/s1600/June+2011+009.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5619367840856543586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvvZbfpDQYfSc9NS6Kj82e3GwKlxmkoLeFJbXel-YHnZcueY4QzVGaKRm7lIMS-z8jQbWZvROzDw1Cz-uh4aSCiFlRu5oc8PMZEiTFZuw3Wh5lQ7Wz39sFAQVYN_ofatfLtY0O88fSdbJV/s400/June+2011+009.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-79328775149441078932011-06-14T09:35:00.000-07:002011-06-14T09:35:00.218-07:00The 1 year mark!It's hard to believe that Matthew has been out on his mission for just over a year now. Some times it seems like it has gone by fast and some times it seems like it is taking forever (usually that's when I am out doing yard work). Matthew has loved serving in England and loves the people over there. He has been made a trainer of a greenie so they must love him too. I didn't realize but a missionary tradition is to burn one of your white shirts when you hit your year mark. Here he is burning his. Beth said the sister missionaries burn panty hose...I think I would burn those before I left. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinPCZCCK_02VNXZXghqXwEjWpxf35jMLVNgx8JYEV1deDef6eFGt3eyhCvQXmI7zhAauJ4RjthisWhgVBHL20tQnkmGRz7iApgu_o4pNYb1DL7pcX9NMbCmiA5Pm0GHpzLFMX3_X7Oxq-X/s1600/DSC03045.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614968997268266322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinPCZCCK_02VNXZXghqXwEjWpxf35jMLVNgx8JYEV1deDef6eFGt3eyhCvQXmI7zhAauJ4RjthisWhgVBHL20tQnkmGRz7iApgu_o4pNYb1DL7pcX9NMbCmiA5Pm0GHpzLFMX3_X7Oxq-X/s400/DSC03045.JPG" /></a><br />This is a picture he took of himself while on his bike, isn't he handsome and I love all the green in the background<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPg1s2-caTpgW3ObfSX3wx-Di5dQ8DafdO_y5xuzake3B-xjRyA8sfZaN7L0mnJkQ9odsDU88yfS7C7POekVhpl3I6S5m0F_INshXgEPItmfIBK-2bF7E9Oa3dBq3M-F2d-w9kODI4kziI/s1600/DSC02962.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614777446066842210" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPg1s2-caTpgW3ObfSX3wx-Di5dQ8DafdO_y5xuzake3B-xjRyA8sfZaN7L0mnJkQ9odsDU88yfS7C7POekVhpl3I6S5m0F_INshXgEPItmfIBK-2bF7E9Oa3dBq3M-F2d-w9kODI4kziI/s400/DSC02962.JPG" /></a> This is one of the many catherals that he has been to. There are only parts of this one left but he has sent some pictures of some beautiful old buildings. He loves the Mini Coopers and says he wants to get one when he gets home. I'm not sure he would even fit in one, he might be to tall. I guess it will be ok because he says it will just be his 2nd vehicle. He still wants a truck to drive too. I think he is dreaming.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1AP241xuJO8GVeHrCoPy4l7VxCijQfXOSikCmrb_411nEqayzVcQNfBwD6hRm0bWBFWULy6jaBMfcWryHxUVd0SDT4r4ede-L3K3ObQZWLlsYRH8tdfOiAJC8VER8CEmZv7jHyvbCSA4c/s1600/DSC03039.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614777426309430722" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1AP241xuJO8GVeHrCoPy4l7VxCijQfXOSikCmrb_411nEqayzVcQNfBwD6hRm0bWBFWULy6jaBMfcWryHxUVd0SDT4r4ede-L3K3ObQZWLlsYRH8tdfOiAJC8VER8CEmZv7jHyvbCSA4c/s400/DSC03039.JPG" /></a> I hope he continues to enjoy serving the Lord in England for the next year and they enjoy having him there. On Memorial weekend Beth and I took 4 of my grandkids to our little cabin in Heber. This is the first time any of us had been there for quite a while. Luckily everything was in good shape after a cold winter. Beth decided that everyone needed craft projects to do while we were there so she planned and organized crafts for all. Well everyone except me and I always have more projects going than one person could ever finish in a life time. Here is Jessah crocheting. I actually had shown her how on Mother's Day weekend and she was still at it so I decided a new stitch and some new yarn was needed. Off to Walmart we went before we left to pick up the new yarn. She is making some coasters here. I can't remember how many she got made but she was whipping them out. You are doing a great job Jessah!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUMH3xpcHemim5QFTeB4lxSTmS2khh2Dg31ME5Uj5jnQE0m9ray5sUS-2Za2Q0wq8pzCmCeKGiJnlSeq4WZvnzcStpoO-PSapt5oGbdniRgh9ZjkSHcK4oW_DiCsYRrPgFSTuGk_47N5Y7/s1600/May+June+2011+016.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614764889683486770" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUMH3xpcHemim5QFTeB4lxSTmS2khh2Dg31ME5Uj5jnQE0m9ray5sUS-2Za2Q0wq8pzCmCeKGiJnlSeq4WZvnzcStpoO-PSapt5oGbdniRgh9ZjkSHcK4oW_DiCsYRrPgFSTuGk_47N5Y7/s400/May+June+2011+016.JPG" /></a> And then there was Reagen and her craft. Beth brought stuff for she and the girls to make hair flowers and Reagen went crazy. Last count she had 17 made. They were turning out so cute, she should have enough of them for every outfit she wears when she gets back into school after her summer break. Jessah and Beth both got some of these made too.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk3yYiw2HFDvXoNd6h7nVTKF-9Ytj2cBKWMPgy2Thu43FyVrApDDj6ScKghb1q9KUzf0bGYGKE6UC0RhmSdJUQegGvHBUmf5UNeJeQsxu2m6yjqaK2SbYm6jhnJVQ9P73X8SgPdkKc3LB3/s1600/May+June+2011+010.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614764886934342802" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk3yYiw2HFDvXoNd6h7nVTKF-9Ytj2cBKWMPgy2Thu43FyVrApDDj6ScKghb1q9KUzf0bGYGKE6UC0RhmSdJUQegGvHBUmf5UNeJeQsxu2m6yjqaK2SbYm6jhnJVQ9P73X8SgPdkKc3LB3/s400/May+June+2011+010.JPG" /></a> Thane is into coloring so when I was at Walmart picking up Jessahs yarn I found this tiger picture that came with all the markers. he colored every little inch of it. It kept him busy when he wasn't outside hitting the baseball around...he loves sports. Good job Thane!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNDuRYhE8tMMQayYHaVbRudIyZkbBKX2QcODat-cuJaLcWhsf8lheIj7EXiRHomFNk6nJWdV1x9S6pExw0TELXPI9W2FJJ4forGHD9TVrnbFBOe5msF5mcmSffIi3ploKNGChXq3OHJJd1/s1600/May+June+2011+006.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614764880746581346" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNDuRYhE8tMMQayYHaVbRudIyZkbBKX2QcODat-cuJaLcWhsf8lheIj7EXiRHomFNk6nJWdV1x9S6pExw0TELXPI9W2FJJ4forGHD9TVrnbFBOe5msF5mcmSffIi3ploKNGChXq3OHJJd1/s400/May+June+2011+006.JPG" /></a> And here is our cute little Faithy. She wasn't to much into the crafts. Oh she colored a little, modeled the hair flowers but she also played outside in the dirt. She is so girly, girly but for some reason she love digging in the dirt. Maybe she needs someone to show her some gardening tips.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYYuAYV_qQE2vdMrIFZopg4Jz3vgsrZiGMx5ZozSDy646NP6z0WfgicDo2nrL80hzlODozD9GLmkrue6jyj7Hf658wJQUwL8zeG_LMaPilbnMp7jjLO4GxPFGsU0SIzTHw08DrOJvmeVC7/s1600/May+June+2011+007.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614764873215756130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYYuAYV_qQE2vdMrIFZopg4Jz3vgsrZiGMx5ZozSDy646NP6z0WfgicDo2nrL80hzlODozD9GLmkrue6jyj7Hf658wJQUwL8zeG_LMaPilbnMp7jjLO4GxPFGsU0SIzTHw08DrOJvmeVC7/s400/May+June+2011+007.JPG" /></a><br />And of course a trip to the cabin with kids just wouldn't be complete without getting the little ole jeep out. Someone gave this to Matthew as a joke when he turned 16 and boy I think the grandkids have driven it about 50,000 Miles since then. Poor thing needs a new battery, it only last about 1/2 hr. even when it is fully charged. The kids do love it tho and have made a path through our driveway and into the neighbors. Good thing the neighbors don't mind.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE3GRSK0EGg8X5xSZJMUOnVKs940vKrAFDJGO-SQN3eIF8nflRLUPE75oAi_Riq5WDkpDi5wlcUWkSaP7v4s_aIs5hk5JAlY0z6kWbAFugl-kHvHsD7md8TzdTX1KWDEKQKHpZoBHBOSTD/s1600/May+June+2011+023.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614764864902248066" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE3GRSK0EGg8X5xSZJMUOnVKs940vKrAFDJGO-SQN3eIF8nflRLUPE75oAi_Riq5WDkpDi5wlcUWkSaP7v4s_aIs5hk5JAlY0z6kWbAFugl-kHvHsD7md8TzdTX1KWDEKQKHpZoBHBOSTD/s400/May+June+2011+023.JPG" /></a> This weekend I am going to be with the same bunch of kids and we are heading to Flagstaff for the day on Saturday for the Army Family Day. Their dad has been up there for his yearly National Guard maneuvers. They will be glad to see daddy after him being gone for 2 weeks now and he will be glad to see them. I will post those pictures when we get back.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-69983155716862185902011-06-05T09:01:00.000-07:002011-06-05T18:18:22.308-07:00Happy Birthday HunterThis cute little boy that I am with had a birthday on Friday. My Grandson, Hunter turned 5 years old on Friday and is so excited to start school in July. He had a birthday party on Memorial weekend with family and friends but because I was out of town I decided to take him on his birthday to one of his favorite places...Panda Bears (as he calls it). Aunty Beth and Carrie joined us, along with cousin Reagen. He told us all about his great day going to Build a Bear with his mom and brother Connor. He wanted to make sure we knew he didn't build a bear but a dog and of course his dog had to have a puppy so apparently he got to build 2.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0lbyhZNcMEVH25rKYKu4TpA9brZZNhWz9TrHURTXBGRJW1rEL0PG5BE0PR08mn_Z0EhmksZ5mzMEItW8BQ3uTnjf_Xu8v08OhQ7LXC3fuaDRWjBXbhyeeiTuda9jFot5We2c-YLZ3nOz1/s1600/May+June+2011+027.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614767625972977234" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0lbyhZNcMEVH25rKYKu4TpA9brZZNhWz9TrHURTXBGRJW1rEL0PG5BE0PR08mn_Z0EhmksZ5mzMEItW8BQ3uTnjf_Xu8v08OhQ7LXC3fuaDRWjBXbhyeeiTuda9jFot5We2c-YLZ3nOz1/s400/May+June+2011+027.JPG" /></a> After we were done eating our dinner we walked across the parking lot and got us an ice cream cone at Crazy Subs. They have the best rootbeer and vanilla swirl cones there, just like eating a rootbeer float. We them took it outside to eat and open his gifts. He hates getting his picture taken but I was able to snap a few. Aunt Beth took him to see the new Kunfu Panda movie after. Hope you had a great 5th birthday H-Dawg!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnNFFMR5q-nxIGpa8FTMyQEel9staohm4XUnuqLROk7Wcd4p-LpiBlVb5symUIiEn248xE0PZBhURSeyeGck-JOnkb0Ufi7jSxXU8bvmzvVNUhZ4hnscdSzgi7Biv4fGUk2xhmvNOYZSA1/s1600/May+June+2011+033.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614767618650014306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnNFFMR5q-nxIGpa8FTMyQEel9staohm4XUnuqLROk7Wcd4p-LpiBlVb5symUIiEn248xE0PZBhURSeyeGck-JOnkb0Ufi7jSxXU8bvmzvVNUhZ4hnscdSzgi7Biv4fGUk2xhmvNOYZSA1/s400/May+June+2011+033.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>Mindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00831364613699102415noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6545045589139869254.post-44942787503723122292011-05-11T08:46:00.000-07:002011-05-11T08:46:00.766-07:00Mother's Day!What a great Mother's Day I had. This is how I spent the day...I started out having breakfast with all these cuties. I had all six of my grandchildren at the house and Beth and Carrie fixed us the best french toast with homemade syrup. It was yummy but the item that was the biggest hit was the chocolate milk. I think we went through almost a full gallon of milk. The girls couldn't keep it made fast enough.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEVmfEpD7fcvVNjjLcWO0SiYWdzWgN6-cYqn_pLLlnHT35-qIbt2XVVC6c9sskOKCMYxN1W8-IOXbpJpe5MsFteq3jnSXhtAM444YTBbbbPGisnckiANxXGHMx-nzGx3aw5ThOFRB-Wn1o/s1600/May+2011+011.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604931618178017970" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEVmfEpD7fcvVNjjLcWO0SiYWdzWgN6-cYqn_pLLlnHT35-qIbt2XVVC6c9sskOKCMYxN1W8-IOXbpJpe5MsFteq3jnSXhtAM444YTBbbbPGisnckiANxXGHMx-nzGx3aw5ThOFRB-Wn1o/s400/May+2011+011.JPG" /></a> After breakfast we started our wait...the wait for our missionary serving in the England Birmingham mission to call/skype us. The wait is a very stressing time especially for the mother (me), so while we were waiting we decided to go outside and do a photo shoot. Not often I get all six grandkids together at the same time. Our busy 13 year old Jessah doesn't get to come often so we all get excited when we do have her. We had alot of fun coming up with as many different poses as we could and of course everyone had to have his/her picture with one cousin and then another.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXEfLin_gnlCQ5dguY9wail8TUuKwxtYb0Y_jcPbvH-bMsQGn18MlX5dJpD-bEFow8MWpxr_YiqBeo5JUtWt_22J_1qi23CMA8az8Ejnx6dHxdQ6T1-ujte0dnZNDlx8mAmosIRhAzOFAx/s1600/May+2011+024.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604931613021013890" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXEfLin_gnlCQ5dguY9wail8TUuKwxtYb0Y_jcPbvH-bMsQGn18MlX5dJpD-bEFow8MWpxr_YiqBeo5JUtWt_22J_1qi23CMA8az8Ejnx6dHxdQ6T1-ujte0dnZNDlx8mAmosIRhAzOFAx/s400/May+2011+024.JPG" /></a><br />Finally we got the call. It was so fun talking to him. He even has an english accent. Apparently I am now a mum instead of a mom. Made me feel like the queen mum. Of course Matthew thought we talked funny too...so American he said. Humm...how things change and he has only been gone a year. He loves serving in England and loves his wonderful English friends that he has made.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjetD5nMT1lQuQM-WJRVCMBEkX1rlN2l56qpFMdceIfstJ6XAzR_iCrKqCExkcNqJxoT6Lewu-5_2Vcl0Ziwrr8-f17baeZK5XIBvk8LbrIagiBH9R0zxNPl1ymv-Thw2Q3bEMhdhfYtUqJ/s1600/May+2011+039.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604931604212824706" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjetD5nMT1lQuQM-WJRVCMBEkX1rlN2l56qpFMdceIfstJ6XAzR_iCrKqCExkcNqJxoT6Lewu-5_2Vcl0Ziwrr8-f17baeZK5XIBvk8LbrIagiBH9R0zxNPl1ymv-Thw2Q3bEMhdhfYtUqJ/s400/May+2011+039.JPG" /></a><br />The kids had a blast talking to Uncle Matthew. We didn't want him to forget the chaos it is when we are all together. He even tried to get his dog's attention but there was just to much noice and to much was going on here and Lily didn't catch on. He got to stay on the line for about 45 minutes. We didn't want to let him go but there are rules we had to follow. We are just thankful for the time we got.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs8hHIfjsfT3b0L4lqi2U_KofsNRIKRVt3fEQGFNmQckWrazZl5zHkV3BGnD5dwiZcQgThfty0P8wmGZiP27x4CCRgUsqWpLTIpmsCzWOxsdVZS7yMJ1ps7QZL2TiOtj2yuUyVU9gnqJzJ/s1600/May+2011+038.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604931598909952386" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs8hHIfjsfT3b0L4lqi2U_KofsNRIKRVt3fEQGFNmQckWrazZl5zHkV3BGnD5dwiZcQgThfty0P8wmGZiP27x4CCRgUsqWpLTIpmsCzWOxsdVZS7yMJ1ps7QZL2TiOtj2yuUyVU9gnqJzJ/s400/May+2011+038.JPG" /></a><br />My next stop was to the home of the "grill master" He treated me to the most wonderful, juicy steak. He knows exactly how I like it....rare. I had a wonderful day and was treated like a queen. <br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGQie-rtQWxwtkLX7NZIxr7fdwUowcM4Ylu8EC9LBlW5cToaBCuCrvVqGlTI-Qil6MTI64uW-lYJ9EyaP6vIeUfvZ1eEGYiglBmMqSP1URvMXXazmi7QDxhUjeTa99yY6oa6qbDj8X9WC3/s1600/May+2011+041.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604931592880242082" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGQie-rtQWxwtkLX7NZIxr7fdwUowcM4Ylu8EC9LBlW5cToaBCuCrvVqGlTI-Qil6MTI64uW-lYJ9EyaP6vIeUfvZ1eEGYiglBmMqSP1URvMXXazmi7QDxhUjeTa99yY6oa6qbDj8X9WC3/s400/May+2011+041.JPG" /></a>To end the day I went to visit my own Mother. She is the best but I forgot to take my camera snap a picture of her. Thanks Mom for all you have done for me and my family.
