A New Adventure!

I have decided to begin a new adventure. I am going to open an Etsy shop. What is an Etsy shop you say, well it is an online site where you can go and buy and sell handmade items. I have wanted to do this for awhile and decided to just jump in and get it going. I have not yet got mine all set up and figured out (I think it's my age...takes me a little longer than most...don't tell my kids tho) so while I am still working on getting that all up and running I thought I would post some pictures of items I am selling with the prices and if anyone out there in blogland is interested just post a comment and leave your contact information, what you are interested in and I will get back to you. All prices shown are for those who are local (Mesa, AZ area) and want to pick up the item. If I need to mail anything, which I am more than willing to do, the postage will be extra. I will charge exactly what the postage is, no more. So here goes...

First I have this cute little skirt. I have had fun making several of these. These I am selling for $30 and it includes the headband. The flowers on the skirt are pinned on with a safety pin so that when you need to wash this it can be removed. This skirt is a size 5-6.

This cute bag I just finished tonight. It is approx. 18" wide X 12" long. The base for this bag is a black plastic mesh and it also has a handmade flower on it. These flowers are my new thing for the moment. I am asking $22.50 for this sweet bag.

This kitchen towel has a pieced quilt strip along the front bottom and is also bound with some of my favorite quilt fabric and I am asking $7.50 for it.

And last but not least here is what I am going to call a "Grab and Go". This is for the times you are taking baby out on a fast trip and just don't want to be caught without the essentials but don't want to drag out a big diapper bag. I have also included a matching burp cloth with it. This set goes for $10.

Here is a look at the inside of the "Grab and Go". I guess I should mention that it holds a travel size package of wipes and a couple of diaper and even a small bottle of hand sanitizer (these items are not included). The "Grab and Go" also comes in handy even for you Grandma's out there. I keep mine in my car for those special occassions.

As you can see I am selling pretty much this and that, whatever I am in the mood to make at the time. You should check back often because you just never know what I might have on here, I always have many ideas roaming around in my head. I will definately let you know when my Etsy shop is up and running.

A few more things...

Ok, here are a few more things that I am selling. These are baby burp clothes. These first one I crochet aroung the edge. I am offering the crochet ones for $5 a piece.

And these have rick rack around the edge and they are only $3 a piece.
I must be partial to blue because it seems I have quite a few that color. They make great gifts.

One day when I was doing some online surfing I found homemade pillow cases with crochet edges, so I just had to try one. Here is mine. This pillowcase is $12.00.

And last but not least here are a couple of crochet dish clothes for $3.00 each. These are something I really enjoy making. I love trying the different crochet stitches on these.

Hope you like what you have seen and if you are interested in anything just leave a comment with your contact information and I will get back with you. Thanks for taking the time to look.

ANOTHER Birthday???

I know you out there in blog land are saying, "surely they are not celebrating another birthday"...well Big family=lots of birthdays. Today is my cute little grandson Thane's 6th birthday. He is a first grader this year. We are going to celebrate this weekend by taking him to the movies and of course there has to be birthday cake and cousins too. HAPPY BIRTHDAY THANE! Grandma loves you.
Speaking of birthdays, I thought I would show this little caddy that I made for a friends birthday gift. I have sewing stuff in this one but it would be great to hold just about anything you want. It would be good for the kids rooms to hold their treasures or crayons etc, in a bathroom or even with baby items in it for the nursery. The ideas could be endless.
Here is a picture of the inside. Lots of pockets. I think I need to make me one too. I love all the pockets.

What a fun time I had this week. My friend Jennifer was visiting here from her 18 month stay in China with her family and a group of us got together to visit. Ann, Julia, Bunny, Rachelle, Jennifer and I met at Costa Vida and got caught up with everyones lives and had great Mexican food. I know this picture looks like I am not having fun but I was. Great friends, great food and good times, can't get any better than this.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today Zeb turns 26 today and will soon become a father for the first time. Here he is with his cute wife Jenn. Happy Birthday Zeb! Can't wait for Zeb Jr. to get here.

Birthday Skirt

Saturday is my former "work partner"/niece's birthday. Grier turned 4. When I worked for her Grandpa and with her Mom she would come in and hang out with us. Here she is with my Faithy... aren't these two cute girls. I had been at the quilt store earlier in the week and found a darling skirt I wanted to make for her but I didn't want to spring for the cost of it. So I went back to the store several times during the week to study it and then went home and made one without the pattern.

This is the little ditty that I put on it. (I know I haven't quite got this blogging down, this should have been the last picture.)

And tah..dah here it is. Didn't it turn out cute. I made a headband with these little flowers on it but I guess I forgot to get a picture of that. I am thinking of making some to sell now...do you want one?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRIER!

Dinner Out

Wednesday I met my sister and her kids at Gecko Grill for dinner. It is a break from dental school for Nate and he is in town for a week or so. I hadn't gotten to see him yet so it was nice that they let me join in. We were also celebrating Kathy's new job. She is going to start working the front desk at a law office and had just been to her first training session. Congrats Kathy. Best of all Katie and Mark treated us all. Thanks guys, your the best.

Catching Up!

How time flies. I have been trying to get this posted all week and just haven't had a minutes worth of waking time to do it. So here goes...I'm catching up. Last weekend I went up to the cabin with these 2 cute girls, Reagen my granddaughter and Karson, my great niece. I had promised them last spring that I would take them up for a weekend without any little brothers or sisters. I didn't know 2 girls could laugh that much. As you can see in this picture they didn't really want to stop to let me take pictures but they really had a blast and I actually got some stuff done that I wanted to do also.
They had to make a trip to the local Family Dollar store and picked this wonderful activity...making balloon animals/flowers. They actually got pretty good at it before we came home.
They took along some scrapbooking projects. I tried to tell them that scrapbooking on the sofa was really the easiest way to do it but they thought they would try anyway.

Hey girls we will have to do this again another time. I will bring my ear plugs the next time and you two can laugh away.
